Ombudsman Complaint
YHYC was created by the AHA
to raise awareness in support of the Commonwealth Ombudsman Complaint regarding the 2015
NHMRC Homeopathy Review. It quickly grew into political advocacy tool for the entire complementary medicines sector.
Health fund rebates
Since its inception, YHYC has
successfully lobbied Government to conduct new ‘review updates’ of 16 therapies (including homeopathy) reinvigorating hope that patients will again be able to claim rebates. We continue to closely monitor and apply pressure to ensure the reviews are conducted ethically and transparently.
MBA & TGA
Other campaigns include influencing the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) to abandon plans targeting integrative medical practitioners who offer complementary medicine as well as lobbying the TGA to increase the amount of cannabidiol (CBD) permitted in over-the-counter products.
