Abstract
This document presents the proposal for a workforce survey to be conducted jointly by the Australian Register of Homoeopaths (ARoH) and The Aurum Project (AP). It outlines the background information pertaining to the profession of homeopathy in Australia. Gaps in knowledge about the profession’s workforce capacity are identified and contextualised within other allied health workforce surveys. The rationale for an annual survey to collect information is presented, with the aim to inform the profession about workforce trends and areas where the workforce could be grown and resourced in the future.
A descriptive survey study is proposed to answer the research question:
What are the characteristics and demographics of the homeopathic workforce in Australia?
Outcomes from this project aim to inform education providers and registration bodies, identify areas for capacity building within the profession and to better serve the community using homeopathy as part of their healthcare provision.
