Outside of Australia, homeopathy is prevalent in New Zealand. It is also practised in Indonesia, mainly in Jakarta and Bali, and in the Solomon Islands.
In New Zealand, the homeopathic profession is organised through the NZ Homeopathic Society and the NC Council of Homeopaths. Training is provided mainly through the NZ College of Natural Health and Homeopathy and professional homeopaths are registered through the Council. There are over 130 registered homeopathic practitioners. (1)
Homoeopathy in the Solomon Islands has been part of the South Sees Evangelical Church (SSEC) Mission since its inception and the introduction of homeopathic remedies in the 1920’s. Since that time, homeopathy has continued to be of significant importance in providing healthcare both on the mainland and also in rural areas where access to western medicine may be many hours and even several days away. 40–80,000 people are being
treated annually (2).
