Hippocampus kuda – a seahorse case

Similia Vol 27 No 2 – December 2015

Author: Joanne Greenland

Abstract

A case of Hippocampus kuda (Seahorse), demonstrating the themes of the sea creature medicines and the sub-themes of the seahorse. Prior to  knowledge of this remedy, other sea creature medicines, such as Sepia, may have been prescribed for this case. Whilst this may have achieved satisfactory results, it would likely have led to prescribing different polycrests and multiple prescribing. Prescribing Hippocampus kuda in the first  instance completed the case beautifully without requiring further prescription, not only eliminating the patient’s depression and her inability to go  back to work, but also supporting her ability to make positive life choices.

Keywords: Hippocampus kuda, seahorse, sea animals, animal kingdom, hiding, gender stereotypes, running away, seeking freedom, escape, feeling drugged, floating sensation, androgyny.
