Abstract
New patients regularly present with chronic gastrointestinal conditions. The most difficult to help are those with undiagnosed, unclear and changeable symptoms; these patients go from pillar to post, from naturopath to doctor, in search of answers and for effective treatments. Not infrequently, these patients present to homeopaths. Two cases are presented in this paper. These cases demonstrate the need for individualisation and the importance of remaining open to clinical findings. The first case has a background of multiple gastrointestinal pathogens clouding the clinical picture. The latter, a case of ulcerative colitis, asks us to consider when, if ever, the case can be said to be ‘cured.’
