Abstract
A novel approach of learning homeopathic materia medica is in the development of bookmarks. The bookmarks are a way to engage potential students and the public in understanding and using homeopathy in a simple format. They can also address the different learning styles people have. Poems and prose on each bookmark encapsulate the essence of each remedy and the vibrant colour of the pictures depicting a remedy allows for visual implementation of information. Keynotes of the remedy are provided on the reverse side. This is an essential addition and further triggers the memory when learning and seeing a remedy picture. The authors describe the process of the bookmark development in this paper with examples of Phosphorus, Chamomilla, Dulcamara, Cantharis vesicatoria, Belladonna and Lachesis muta. To date 29 remedies have been introduced as bookmarks.
Keywords: Materia medica, keynotes, bookmarks, learning styles, homeopathy.
