Abstract

Morrison in 2004 has attempted to clarify Hahnemann’s theory of miasms through reviewing the history and current trends in thought on this controversial subject. There was however a significant omission from the section relating to contemporary views on Hahnemann’s theory of chronic disease.

In 1978 the Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) in Mumbai held a symposium that introduced a breakthrough in understanding Hahnemann’s theory of miasmatic disease. One seminal paper by Kasad gives a detailed outline of the area; a follow up paper by Dhawale was incorporated into the second edition in 1994. The proceedings from this symposium were later published by the ICR though were in limited circulation throughout the international homeopathic community. They are still distributed through the ICR.

This paper attempts to define this approach. This is an abstract from a paper given in the US in 2005 by Jim Veljanovski.

Keywords: Miasm, ICR, Kasad, Dhawale, Dixit, Psora, Sycosis, tubercular, syphilitic, object, form, function.
